Admittedly, I missed All My Children today. However, I did not miss One Life to Live or General Hospital. They both ended with a bang … literally!
First, on One Life to Live, Gigi, Rex, Bo and the entire police force finally find Brody and Shane. Brody is now totally losing his mind, spinning and swinging his gun, until you hear the shot and the screen goes black! I never liked Brody anyway, but I have to say this week has been his shining week for Mark Lawson. Prior to this week I didn’t even think he was a good actor. Now I realize that the writers at One Life to Live were just not using him to his fullest potential.
Now, unfortunately I’ve already read the spoiler and I know who got shot, but I won’t ruin it for anyone who doesn’t know yet.
Next on General Hospital it’s Sonny and Kate’s wedding day. Not a big Kate fan here, so you can imagine my joy when she and her cousin Olivia were screaming at each other while getting dressed, while all the guests in the church were listening and laughing at them.
Then it’s time for the wedding to begin. Just as Kate gets down the aisle to greet Sonny … bang! General Hospital ends.
Seriously, between the two shows I almost wish it wasn’t Friday. Two long days with no conclusion!!! Even though I’m counting down the hours until 2:00 pm Monday, ABC did a great job today.

I am so glad that when I watched One Life to Live this afternoon that Todd Manning and Marty Saybrooke weren’t given any airtime. Don’t get me wrong - the original story when Todd and his gang of friends raped Marty back in college was definitely one of the storylines that I treasure from One Life to Live. They did an incredible job with the original story, as well as the development of the characters and their relationship with each other in the years that followed.
However, the current storyline is just making me sick. I realize that Todd is twisted. Somehow I liked Todd more when the original actor, Roger Howarth, played him. Regardless of who is playing Todd, the storyline needs to hurry up and be finished.
I’ll admit, at first when Todd came to the rescue of amnesiac Marty, I was intrigued. I thought maybe he saw a way to redeem himself. It didn’t take long though to learn that it had nothing to do with redemption. All he is doing is filling her head with lies and keeping her away from her son (who really needs his mom right now).
Seriously, writers of the show, please, please, please wrap up this story. I am so tired of the “tender” moments between Todd and Marty. They’re making me sick. I have a sneaking suspicion that other viewers who have been watching as long as I have are also pretty sickened by this.

Hello all and welcome to my new blog! I can think of nothing more fun to write about than ABC Soaps. I can honestly say that I’ve been watching All My Children, One Life to Live and General Hospital since I was in diapers. I’m really not kidding. My mother was a stay-at-home mom early on and she had been watching those shows since she was a little girl. Therefore, when she was home with me, I was watching too.
Now, I have to say that although I enjoy All My Children and One Life to Live, General Hospital is my favorite. It was mom’s favorite too, hmm, can’t imagine how it became mine.
I look forward to being able to share my thoughts on current storylines and comings and goings of our favorite actors and actresses. I hope you enjoy the journey alongside me too!
